  • How do you support your friends who are in the military?

My boyfriend is in the military, so the way I support him is by:

    -praying for him
    -telling him I'm supporting him
-planning for when he gets commissioned and goes to training
-reading about ways support deployed soldiers, in case that happens
-networking with other military significant others
-preparing myself mentally and emotionally for possible separation and loss
-talking about feelings associated with duty
-getting cute military graphics and putting them on my site :)
-learning as much as I can about what he does
-telling him verbally how he's my hero, and how proud I am that he's serving our country

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

I really like this new Featured Question thing.  It makes for a quick update when I need one.  Very stress relieving. Off to work I go...

Have you ever seen the TV show Army Wives? I caught it as the season was ending, so I only saw about 4-5 episodes. It's relatively accurate, and coming out on DVD before too long. One thing I didn't see it show was how wonderful the chaplain corps can support the active duty members as well as the spouses and families. They're awesome and trained in counseling. If I had a problem, I'd go to one even if we were of a different denomination; I trust their training that much.
