  • 5 AM thoughts on the mercy of struggle

Sometimes it all goes so fast...but God brings us the beautiful NOW that can't compare to what we thought it would be in the past.  What we were convinced would be ugly sometimes turns to gold in our trembling hands.

Thanking God for one's struggles takes guts and grace...and is incredibly difficult.  If we can open up to that level then we can begin to forgive.  Have you ever felt like you needed to forgive God?  Maybe we really need to forgive ourselves for being so angry with what God has given us.  Everything that is from God is good.  Everything.

There is divine mercy in confession to another person: being heard and found nothing but a fellow sinner, saved by Grace.  Keeping everything inside isn't really keeping anything at all...it's letting go of the love you might instead share.

If you suddenly find yourself within arm's reach of your fears...embrace them.  God gave you this moment, this day.  You might walk away from that dreaded embrace a new person.

Genesis 50:20  As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Know this, dear one: all of your struggles and trials up to this point have all been part of it.  They are part of God's plan to prosper and not harm you.  Even though you might feel very defeated and like God is out to get you, it's all going to work out for the best.  I promise.  God promises.  He's there for you right now...call out to Him because he does hear you.
