Those who would picket
Do you realize that those who would picket funerals of soldiers, gays, and murdered children do it for the attention they get? Don’t give them media attention, and they will go away. I didn’t name the group here, and you don’t have to either.

I don’t know, I could see them still doing it just for the attention of the funeral attendees, and that disrepect/disruption is the greater problem anyway. I hope you’re right though, and I hope they stop getting said attention.

People do love it…part of why I escaped from the media business and went back to school to teach.
I think some people should intervene as they sometimes do. No cult has the right to disrupt others’ funerals.
@romic - But they do. It’s covered under the 1st amendment.
Those are crazy people.

I understand what you are saying…but when they descended on a town last year, the thought that they would add misery to an already grieving family did not compute. And their right to free speech does NOT trump someone else’s rights in ANY way. So laws are being crafted to make them keep their distance. I have a freedom of privacy and they have no right to broach that…
If they were true Christians they would have more respect for the dead and the mourning. Mourning the death of a loved one is also a First Amendment right. I’m not sure if their demonstrations are for many reasons.
*gasp!* I never really thought of that! Someday, it’ll become old news and so they’ll stop covering it…*shrug* I hope that’s true.
People yelling with signs in their hands usually display the entirety of their intelligence in those few minutes. It takes much more intelligence to stop yelling and actually have a discussion with people who might not agree with you.
This “pastor” is obviously doing evil deeds in the name of doing good. I think there is a warning against such things in the bible. He should really read it, and re-think his “calling”.
It’s just infuriating because they drag the name of Christ around with them, even though I believe they are influence by Satan.
