Afraid
I have a weird personality when it comes to stress. If there’s an email or phone call that I know will cause me stress…I will avoid it. Or a person. Or a conversation. Or a picture of someone in my room. I’ll just cover it up…not throw it away. I’m terrible like that.
I’ve been avoiding coming on Xanga because I have this deluge of weird emotions with everything that the possible shut down or change implies. I’m afraid. It’s paralyzing me.

There are a lot of people in the same boat with you!
Most of us would like to keep xanga just as it is – but that is not possible.
The old xanga will be shutting down July 15.
They have proposed a new xanga – keeping all the old user accounts – but everything on a new platform. And new ways of doing everything.
All old users would be able to view xanga posts and be able to comment on the new xanga.
If you want to be able to write a blog – you now have to PAY $48 a year.
And the new xanga only comes into existence IF they get $60,000 in donations by July 15.
You can read all about it here.
I don’t do well with change, myself. But, like global climate change, it’s coming and we have to learn how to live with it!!
I know how you feel sweetie. I am heartbroken over the Xanga shutdown/change. I just cant believe it is happening. 8 years on this site, down the drain. Luckily tho I archived all of my images and entries. I sugges you do the same if you wnat to keep them.
Love and hugs

I do the same thing sometimes too. I didn’t even want to get on xanga the day i heard the news.
Your feelings are understandable. I don’t think any of us were prepared for the notification of inevitable change. The optimist in me really does believe that the transition will be smooth and we will have been anxious for nothing. But whatever happens, I hope I see you around the new Xanga gated community on July 16th.
I was on 360 when it shut down……..multiply when it shut down…….I’m getting used to this……..if it stays then I will debate on whether or not I want to pay to write a blog no one reads…….
I have a couple letters from a girl who said she loved me and they’re sitting hidden under my bed months later. I hope you can come to terms with it.
I don’t like change either.
So I can relate.
Are you planning to blog on another site if Xanga shuts down? I haven’t been active for awhile so you may not remember me but I used to really enjoy your blog and if you are moving to another site I’ll follow your blog there.
Hey, I do not find it weird. I would say you are wise enough to do that. I also avoid people who give me stress and spread negativity. It is better to avoid such people and things then lose your inner peace.
