Home
Home…you know you’ve arrived when you walk in the door. The smell, even though you long forgot it, it floods your nostrils and brain and you realize how much you missed it. I’m home. I’m neatly tucked into my four poster bed, white Christmas lights glowing…black and white Zorro cat purring near me, the faint smell of Lush Karma in the air. I’m home.
I’m singing a song at mass on Sunday. It’s in German, from Brahm’s Requiem. I am still learning it. I’m practicing tomorrow with the organist. That’s why I came back early.I have 7 weeks to lose 10 lbs. My tour is in 7 weeks. I took on eating as a hobby the past month or so. Why? Because I was far from home.I miss having someone to snuggle with, but I’m home. And for now, my heart is still.

We welcome you back. The phrasing of your weblog entry is evocative, characteristic, and typical of you. It’s why your devotees love you.
Christmas lights in the sanctum of your domicile? We understand perfectly. In the corner of my post-marital bachelor cave is a perpetual Tannenbaum, a sentimental reminder of my days as a dad with growing kids, and a monument to my irrational attachment to both the sacred Natal and Dickensian aspects of the Yuletide holiday. My reasons may not be your reasons, but I consider them analogously similar…if that makes any sense.
Dare we broach the question? Did your Jane Eyre journey yield any results? Any resolution to the particular set of life’s great questions that beleaguer you? Am I being too intrusive? We, your well-wishers, are an incurably curious lot, yet infinitely patient.
And with all our poor persuasiveness and leaden lack of articulacy…we urge you not to belabor yourself with this paltry poundage. You know good and well the chorus of encouragement that is coming toward you like a groundswell.
7 weeks? 10 lbs? should be pretty easy if you watch what you eat!
Home sweet home, no place like it. God bless your travels.
I am glad that you are back; I miss hearing from you!
Welcome home.
I can relate!
